CONSERVATION

Our Mission

Bahrain is home to many birds that have been either smuggled into the country, or trapped. These are later sold, most of the time to people who do wish to own them for the correct reasons and do not know how to take care of them. There is no law against practicing falconry in the country or owning a bird of prey however, we hope that, through our courses, we can educate those interested in owning a bird of prey to properly take care of them, thus reducing the mortality rate.

Our long term mission is to promote the conservation of Birds of Prey through awareness and education. Eventually, we hope to put a stop to the illegal importation and the trapping of birds of prey in the country and allow Bahrain to become a member of the International Association of Falconry. We are also passionate about venturing into other areas such as tourism, pest abatement, building our own moulting chamber and eventually setting up a breeding program for endangered species of birds.

All of our funds go towards the conservation and rehabilitation of birds of prey.

Rehabilitation

Over the course of the year, we have, with the help of our students, rescued, rehabilitated and released a handful of birds, most of them being Kestrels that were found in very poor conditions. Our students also successfully rehabilitated an Owl earlier this year.
