When you sign up for Level 3, you will be ready to own your own small bird. As we do not support the trapping or importation of birds of prey, we can provide you with a rescue kestrel or another small bird. You will then begin rehabilitating, housing and training it by yourself. A daily log and diary entry is to be filled out and regular updates with our instructor are mandatory as this will allow us to keep an eye on your progress, as well as the birds health. If at any time we feel that you are not complying with the rules the bird will be confiscated and you will not be awarded the Level 3 certificate.
If at any time you feel you need a top up on a particular subject, you will also be able to join any of the Level 1 theoretical classes throughout the duration of the course. You may also join/assist in any other classes taking place at any time.
We would once again like to remind you that, before signing up for Level 3 we ask you to make sure that you can meet the time commitment. A falcon requires near-constant care with no days off or holidays. This usually amounts to about half an hour each day, every day, not including the time you will spend training the bird. It is also important that you consider the space that is needed to house a bird. If, due to time and/or space restrictions, you cannot house a bird, an exception can be made however, you will not be awarded our Level 3 certificate in full.
Once the skills for each of these sessions are marked off in your Log Book and you have passed the written and practical tests, you will have completed your Level 3 Certification Course and are on your way to becoming a Bahrain Falconry School Master Falconer.
